The EV charger map that tells you what works.
ChargeBuddy is a free app that puts every public EV charger in India on one map, and tells you which ones are actually working, based on what other riders found when they got there.
A normal map shows you where a charger is. ChargeBuddy also tells you whether it works, whether it fits your vehicle and what it costs, before you drive there.
Charging an EV in India is harder than it should be.
India already has tens of thousands of public chargers. The hard part is knowing which one to go to.
Chargers are split across many apps
Every charging network has its own app. Finding a charger often means checking several apps, or a general map that lists chargers without saying if they work.
A charger on the map isn’t always working
Chargers break, go offline or get blocked. Too often riders find out only after they arrive, with a low battery and no plan B.
Not every charger fits every EV
Plugs differ by vehicle. A fast charger made for cars is no use to a scooter, and some cars can’t use certain plugs.
From “where do I charge?” to charging, in five steps.
- 1
Tell us your vehicle, once
Pick scooter or bike, auto or e-rickshaw, or car, and your model. ChargeBuddy then hides every charger your vehicle can’t plug into.
- 2
Open the map
Chargers near you show first. Zoom out to see the whole country, or search by city, area or network name.
- 3
Check the colour
Green means available and working. Orange means under maintenance: a rider recently reported a problem, so skip it. Tap any charger for its plugs, speed, price and reliability score.
- 4
Get there
One tap opens directions in Google Maps or Apple Maps. Save the chargers you use, and ChargeBuddy can tell you if one of them goes down.
- 5
Check in after you charge
Tell everyone how it went with one tap: charged, charging now, couldn’t charge, or waiting. You need to be at the charger (within 200 m) to check in. Your report updates the charger for the next rider and earns you XP.
How ChargeBuddy knows a charger works.
Every charger’s status comes from one of three places, and the app always shows you which.
Riders who were just there
Riders check in at the charger after they visit. A charger’s reliability score is the share of reports in the last 30 days that said it worked. Recent reports count, old ones fade out.
Live from the charging network
Some networks share live status and prices with us directly. Their chargers are labelled “Live from the charging network” and show how many points are free right now.
An estimate, until the first report
A charger no rider has reported yet shows “~95% · estimate”. That’s a starting guess, and it’s replaced by real reports as soon as riders check in.
One list, cleaned up.
ChargeBuddy combines public charger lists into one map, removes duplicates and keeps it up to date.

Help the next rider, earn XP.
ChargeBuddy works because riders share what they find. To say thank you, you earn XP and move up levels as you help.
XP is a thank-you and a status level. It isn’t money and can’t be exchanged. Rewards needs an account (Apple or Google sign-in).
No sign-up needed
Start as a guest straight away. Sign in with Apple or Google later to keep your XP, check-ins and saved chargers on any phone.
On your car’s screen
From version 1.1, ChargeBuddy also works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can find a charger without picking up your phone.
Your privacy, simply
No ads, no advertising trackers, and we don’t sell your information. Your location is used to show chargers near you. Delete your account any time in the app. Privacy policy

- Check-in
- A one-tap report after you visit a charger: did it charge, are you charging now, or couldn’t you charge?
- Reliability score
- The share of rider reports in the last 30 days that said the charger worked.
- XP
- Points you earn for helping other riders. XP is a thank-you and a status level; it isn’t money and can’t be exchanged.
Is ChargeBuddy free?
Yes. Finding chargers, seeing their status, directions and checking in are free for every rider. We don’t show ads.
Is ChargeBuddy a charging company?
No. ChargeBuddy is an app that brings public chargers from every network onto one map, so you don’t need a different app for each one.
Can I pay for charging or start a charger from ChargeBuddy?
Not yet. Today you pay and start charging the same way as always: at the charger, or in that network’s own app. ChargeBuddy helps you find a charger that works and fits your vehicle before you go.
How accurate is the status?
It comes from riders who were just at the charger and, for some networks, live from the network itself. A charger no rider has reported yet shows “~95% · estimate” until the first report. The more riders check in, the more accurate it gets, so every check-in helps.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Continue as a guest and the map, chargers and check-ins all work. Sign in with Apple or Google when you want to keep your XP, check-ins and saved chargers on any phone; Rewards needs an account.
Which vehicles does it work for?
Electric scooters and bikes, autos and e-rickshaws, and cars. Pick your vehicle once and ChargeBuddy shows only the chargers it can plug into.
Which phones can I use?
Android phones and iPhones. It’s coming soon to Google Play and the App Store; see the Support page for the launch.
A charger is missing or wrong. What do I do?
Open the charger in the app and tap Report to fix a wrong price, a broken or missing charger, or wrong details. If a charger isn’t on the map at all, you can suggest it in the app and our team will check it.
Where does ChargeBuddy work?
All over India: all 28 states and 8 union territories, from big cities to highways and small towns.
Know before you drive.
